The majority of apartments will be market rate, but the complex will also include some affordable housing units, the company said.

According to the BRP Companies’ website, construction of the complex will begin in early 2017 “with expected occupancy in 2019.”

In addition to the residential units, the space will also include 35,000 square-foot of retail space, a community facility and 187 parking spaces.

The complex is one of several new developments planned for downtown Jamaica, including a $35 million hotel with 210 rooms on the other side of the AirTrain station.
